Artist statement
_ Ephemeral objects and fleeting movement suspended on paper, life and death is a recurrent theme in Milette’s work.
Art is an antidote: milestones that slip by, markers.
The fulfilment that printmaking gives the artist happily mocks the Grim Reaper who always lies in wait. Nicole's life, one of many ephemeral themes, will leave some artefacts as witnesses.
Preferred techniques
Photography rapidly captures her inspiration. Then, augmented by freehand sketching and collage, they form a new image in link with her thoughts and emotions. Different printing methods are often mixed to accomplish the final work, mostly lithography, traditional or experimental, mixed with dry point.
